Business Plan Format
The Vision: Outline your goals and business objectives. Explain these in crisp, clear sentences that explain your idea in a nutshell. This will also give a direction to your plan.
Outline the Business: Use the “what”, “why”, “where” and “how” approach for effectiveness and simplicity. You can answer each of these individually as preparation for the outline of your business plan.
Personal Profile: Highlight your previous work experience and achievements by preparing a resume. This should be relatively concise and should not exceed two pages.
Business Profile: Define your business and how you intend to execute it. Stay focused on the industry and market that your business pertains to.
Economic Assessment: Describe the demographics and the specific environment your business will be working in. Providing research data on the intended target audience is a good idea.
Marketing Plan: Explain how you will sell your idea to the market along with specifications for your starting point and expansion plans.
Things to remember while writing: Keep your plan simple, concise, easy to read and in clear business English. For example, you should use do not instead of don’t.
Proofread your writing before sharing your plan with anyone. You should also double check your grammar with an online grammar checker.
